Recent Conversation

We were in bed two nights ago talking and I noticed that TR was pouting (basically making it known that he was needing some attention) while I was blogging....

Tara: TR what is wrong?
TR: Nothing
Tara: Are you jealous of the blog?
TR: I am jealous about the love and affection.
Tara: What love and affection?
TR: The love and affection that you give the blog and not me!!

In other words, my husband is spoiled and I was blogging when he wanted me to play with his hair or rub his back!! Just wanted to document how spoiled I have made him.

Five Obsessions this Christmas Season...

I have seen this done on so many blogs and thought that it looked fun...here goes...

1. Hot Chocolate...I prefer mine made with Nesquik powder and lots of marshmallows!!
2. Cinnamon and Sugar from Yankee Candle and Pumpkin Cheesecake from Lockstar. I love a home and car that smells yummy. I wish that there were lotions with these scents!
3. Looking at Christmas lights. I have loved this since I was little and every year we go looking trying to find the best and deciding which decorations we like best. TR and I have done this since we started dating almost 7 yrs ago. There is one by our house that you can tune into a radio station and the lights move with the music. If that is your house, sorry that we were lingering there quite a while on Friday night!
4. Reading Christmas stories to Adleigh...I love that she likes to look at the books. We have read her the story of Baby Jesus and she seemed to really enjoy it due to her eating the pages as we read.
5. Getting excited and anticipating spending time with family and friends. Nothing beats being with your loved ones.

Santa's Little Helper...our own Little Elf!!

Tis the season to be Jolly.....

Our Christmas tree and Ads doing her best to impress Santa!!

Ads enjoying herself and hanging out with Noel.

Today we got to visit with Santa...TR and Adleigh patiently waiting and mom snapping some pictures...we weren't allowed to use our camera with Santa. (something about how if we did, Santa might not be able to visit the mall next year??)

Dad and Ads getting a little tired of waiting in line...45 minutes into the wait.

And finally, Santa!!!

Telling Santa what all she wants and how good she has been this year completely wore her out!! We were at Bonefish eating dinner and she was out.

Finally awake and enjoying whip cream off of mom and dad's dessert!! What a perfect ending to a perfect day!!
Have a great week...only 11 days left til Christmas, well actually it is almost 1o days away!!

Presence

Below is the series that we are currently learning at church....the first part is what the series is about and the second is what we learned today. We have learned so much from this church and feel that we as a couple and family are growing and learning even more....we are seeking out truth and love which in turn is making us stronger. Here is the website to our church....http://www.newlifechurch.tv/. Check it out!! There is actually a sister church in NWA and my mom goes there and loves it.

Presence
In Nazareth, Jesus' home town...He did no miracles. Because they were too familiar with Him. They watched Him grow up, wearing diapers and maturing as a teenager.
They took Jesus for granted.
The awe & wonder of the Messiah was gone because they were so used to the thought of having Jesus around.
This holiday season, as we shop and brave the mob of people the day after Thanksgiving...think about the crowds that surrounded Jesus as He taught and healed the sick.
The crowds we face may be overwhelming but we cannot forget the presence of God. And reaching out to touch Him is the single most important thing we can do.
Jesus was born in a barn but the Little Lord Jesus is no longer asleep on the hay. He is alive and He is the Messiah. There is nothing more life changing than the Presence of God.

WHAT DOES GOD NEED?

God doesn't need anything.
Acts 17:25 (New International Version)
And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

God decided to need you.
Genesis 2:19 (New International Version)
Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.

Mark 6:5-6 (New International Version)
5He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6And he was amazed at their lack of faith.

1 Samuel 17:4-11 (New International Version)
4 A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. He was over nine feet tall. 5 He had a bronze helmet on his head and wore a coat of scale armor of bronze weighing five thousand shekels; 6 on his legs he wore bronze greaves, and a bronze javelin was slung on his back. 7 His spear shaft was like a weaver's rod, and its iron point weighed six hundred shekels. His shield bearer went ahead of him.
8 Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, "Why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me. 9 If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us." 10 Then the Philistine said, "This day I defy the ranks of Israel! Give me a man and let us fight each other." 11 On hearing the Philistine's words, Saul and all the Israelites were dismayed and terrified.

Romans 10:13-14 (New International Version)
13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

Have you decided to need God?
There are three things that are important to understand.
1- God will never change/do our job.
2- God will never do what you are given the responsibility to do.
3- Our part is never supernatural and our part comes first.

Today we had a guest pastor, Robert Morris, from Gateway Church in Dallas, TX.

The message was awesome and he explained that in the 1 Samuel verse, that the very conversation that Goliath was having could have been a conversation that God and the devil had. Basically, he pointed out that the use of the number 6 three times in that verse could stand for the devil (evil) and that basically the devil felt that he had figured God out and knew how to attack him. God set a principle for himself and the devil thought that he could take advantage of the situation. God's principle is that he will not intervene and fix all things...that he loves people and if we are willing to listen and be obedient that God will work through us. Due to this the devil thought that he could discourage the people of Israel by having his fighter, Goliath, defeat them. When Goliath asks for a man to fight him, God responds and says that he has a boy. Basically, anyone who is willing to seek out God and open his heart, will have the favor of God...this is how David defeated Goliath. God gave David the courage to stand up to Goliath and shoot the pebble, however, God was the one who made the pebble hit the right spot.

I also got that though many have questions and seek out the Bible for answers, there will be times that we do not understand the meaning or purpose. It was shared with us today that the Bible is not wrong...it is always truthful. However, due to being condemned at birth (Adam's sins) our mind is wrong. The comfort and peace is that since it only took one man (Adam) to lose it all...it only took one man (Jesus) to get it all back. Jesus is the son of God as well as the son of man. This is what we should all rejoice about because of Jesus' blood all we have to do is believe and we are forgiven!! What a way to know that God's presence is always with us and that we are so blessed.

I know that at times the hustle and bustle can make us all forget what is important, but take time to rejoice that a baby was born in a manger and that one baby is the reason that we can all have eternal life.

Happy Birthday, Jesus!!

Peek a Boo, Clapping, and Facials

This morning, little Adleigh decided to sleep in. She is now sitting in our bed with us and for the hour that she has been here....lots has happened.

She began with her breakfast and then decided that a round of Peek a Boo was needed. She is getting to be such a big girl lately and lifts the blanket over her head and then lowers it while I say Peek a Boo. It never fails that she always surprises her daddy...he just can't figure out where she disappears too!!

She then wanted to clap her hands, so her and dad probably have hands that have the pins and needles feeling bc they were really getting into to it this morning. I had not seen her clap before, but TR says this is something that they have been doing ALL week (yeah, I feel a little left out...but I am so excited to see what all Adleigh will learn this week).

I took one for the team and laid my head down in her lap for my facial this morning. She also included a nice scalp massage by pulling wads of my hair out. Basically it was like a "spring cleaning" of the hair that she did not feel was needed any longer. She then gave me a nice suck on the nose and some great eye scratches!!! While getting my facial, TR thought that we should give her the remote to play with as well...I had to veto this and reminded him that he would be embarrassed to take me to his work Christmas party with black eyes and bruises on my face...not to mention what random people would think. Thank goodness for my speed with that...she gets a little violent with the remote. We keep wondering why she does not give herself bruises when she bangs the remote against her head and face?? Maybe she just has a high pain tolerance??

Regardless, mornings were never this exciting before her...she truly lightens up our days!!

We are off to church, Christmas shopping, and then visiting that big man in RED...Santa here we come!!

Is there anything better than...

a lazy Saturday?

Karye stayed the night here last night with little Macy (Bret is was out of town), so this morning TR and I got to sleep in!! We are feeling a little spoiled. Today is a day for sitting on the couch and watching movies!! Adleigh is playing on the floor and having such a great day. I might even do a little baking or maybe I will just cuddle with TR and Ads on the couch.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and takes time to enjoy this wonderful season full of love and excitement!!

It's all about the Mum-mums!!

So, Adleigh is in the middle of some awful teething right now and all I can say is thank goodness f0r the little rice cookies, Mum-mums. She can devour these little guys in no time and an added bonus is that her hands turn into little sticky mittens that can attach and hold onto anything...she is somewhat like a superhero!

Unfortunately, the dogs are also very interested in the cookies as well. Last night I know that I gave Adleigh a full cookie and I turned my head for one sec and all of a sudden it was gone and Noel looked very guilty. She avoided eye contact and hid behind the Christmas tree...that is some major guilt.

Adleigh was moved to the older baby class on Monday and she is definitely the new girl on the mat. She is now reunited with some of her "old" buddies from group 1, but after her reaction (think: deer in the headlights) we think she is having to rethink what she knows. All the babies crawl and this is not something that she can do so when a pack of them came after her....she shot those arms up in the air and gave me a look that said, "I did not say okay to this and why are they chasing me...HELP, mom, HELP!" Today seemed to be better and she was sitting with another girl and they were banging toys down on the mat together. I cannot imagine how I will survive my nerves as she gets older because I am already worried about if she is having a good time!!

A Few Little Inspirations....

Here are a few quotes that I look at regularly to help me with my job. Sometimes when I feel that it gets too hard or too sad, this helps to inspire me and make me better.

"Be life short or long, its completeness depends on what it was lived for." - David Starr Jordan

"When we do the best that we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life or in the life of another." - Helen Keller

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show for any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." - Unknown

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." -Aesop

"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." - Charles Dickens

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill

**I also decided to give into the Twilight craze and have now found myself an addict!! I read the four books in a little over 48 hours!! I even went to see the movie by myself...I couldn't bare to drag the Mr. to it, however, if a special someone is reading this...it would be a wonderful date to go see it again. (hint, hint) I cannot believe that I have become such a fan...it is almost like it is real and I think of the characters as real. I know I sound like a nut. To those Twilight fans out there, the website is really good and there even is the partial posting of the book from Edward's point of view. So good!!

We now have formal signature approved by the Mr. too, thanks KB...you are my blogger guru!!

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matthew 1:21

Today, we finally had a chance to put up our Christmas tree and decorations!! (I will post pics soon, I promise) Adleigh loves the tree and has enjoyed looking at the ornaments all day. While Adleigh napped this afternoon, we also decorated the mantel and outside!! We have a few cute signs up around the house that say, "1 Day of Coal, 364 Days of Fun" and "Be Naughty, Save Santa the Trip." I just love getting out our decorations because I always forget what we have...a few years ago, my gamma gave me a plush nativity scene, so Adleigh and I played with it and I shared with her about Jesus. We sat around our Christmas house drinking hot cocoa while playing with blocks and then we read her the childrens version of the story of Jesus' birth. She seems to really be enjoying all of the stories and beautiful lights!!

On a sidenote, I am loving the sirius Christmas music station, Holly 81. We play it in the car and on our TV!!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas season filled with the true meaning and spirit!!
