it's been awhile....

i can't believe that it has been several months since my last post. since so much has happened, i won't play catch up but just try to keep up better.

adleigh is now 20 months old...she is very active and has so much personality. right now the big things are that she knows the colors blue & red, she loves doing animal puzzles, reading her manners book and hands are not for hitting, elmo on her diapers, practicing going potty (monday she moves to class 5 and we will begin to transition out of diapers!!!), dancing, singing songs that the only words are momma and dadda, playing with letter magnets on the fridge, playing fetch with the dogs, giving hugs & kisses, sleeping on a pillow, working on how to say everyday words, repeating after daddy when he spells her name, eating bananas, hibachi grilled fried rice being taken out in a matter of minutes, drinking from a cup with a lid through a straw, eating with a regular fork and spoon, sitting in a booster seat at restaurants, calling nana in the mornings and saying hi nana, talking about her "boyfriend" bobo, playing in the bathtub, building with blocks, pushing her shopping cart through the house, taking care of her babies...meow, woof woof, and just baby, visiting the ducks and geese at the park, running, sliding down slides independently, animal sounds, taking care of her cousin baby parker, coloring, playing with playdoh, putting on her rain boots, wearing ponytails (still not liking the process of putting hair in a ponytail), sleeping late in the a.m., playing chase, spending time with family, expressing Independence, and most importantly just getting cuter everyday!

tr and i are doing good. nothing new at this time, we are staying busy keeping up with adleigh, working, and enjoying our family time.

the holidays were filled with lots of fun, laughter, and family time! i will try to post pics soon of that.

tonight we are supposed to get some winter weather, hopefully it will hit big or just skip us all together.

until next time...

Saturday Thinkings

If you are looking for a cute picture of our little mini me, not going to happen tonight. We have been surrounded and attacked by the flu here. Little one is starting to feel better but still does not feel that sleep is necessary. Mom and dad are becoming weary and might have to call in some backup! To be completely truthful...Mom has been under the weather as well and last night got wonderful sleep (thanks to Tylenol PM and Super-Dad who slept on the couch with our little booger!) Apparently Adleigh feels that it is fine to be up in the middle of the night and that beds are not desirable for sleep, so TR put the couches together and made a bed. Today we have watched football, took naps, and watched more football. Not sure if it is being stuck in the house or what but here are some thoughts...
  • My good man really is a good man....lucky me.
  • My house is messier than it has ever been and I don't care.
  • Even though people tell you to let a little one cry a little in bed before you get them out and most times they will stop....well mine has not heard that one because she will scream forever and will become soaking wet. Still don't know what to do about this one.
  • I kinda miss high school and the easy life. Who would ever have thought that??

Anyways, have a goodnight and soon we will post more pics or not.

Peabody Ducks

Here are the five Peabody LR Ducks. There are four females and one male. The "duck guy" said that the male was one lucky duck...haha. They are making their way to the elevator to go to the second floor for the evening. Every day (all 365 days) these ducks come in at 11 a.m., swim around for a while, and at 5 p.m. go back to their house. It was really cool to watch and Adleigh loved it. You can't see her because TR is holding her back due to her wanting to catch one! We had such a great time. Here are some more.......

Pictures, Pictures & Pictures

Here are a some pics from the last few weeks. There have been so many things happening in the last several months that have kept us so busy. We are bad parents and have only had the camera with us a few times. But the most important thing that has happened is little Parker Kash Birdsong!! He was born September 1, 2009 and we are so excited to have him. Adleigh and I got to spend the first week of his life with him at his house since TR was in Singapore. We had a great time and loved just snuggling with him. In a few weeks, Shayla and Bryce get married so there will be more pics soon. Adleigh is going to be the flower girl!! Her new love is ducks...we visit the park often so some of these pics are from a local park. Have a great week.
